PATRICK AND MACKENZIE O'HAIR
As told by MacKenzie

My husband, Patrick, and I moved to Osceola in April of 2007, after partnering with his sisters, Jodi and Sara, to purchase the Junction Creamery. Pat was born and raised in Van Wert and went to high school here in Osceola. After high school he went on to attend Northwest Missouri State University, which is where we met.

After graduating college, we moved to Lee's Summit, Missouri (my home town) got "real" jobs, and purchased our first home. Not long after, we began exploring the idea of becoming our own boss and began talking with Max and Nancy Ingram about purchasing the Creamery. Within a few months everything fell into place, we purchased the Creamery, and moved to Osceola.

Since our move to Osceola we have grown quite a bit. Pat began farming with his dad, I got my real estate license, and our partnership purchased several rental properties. We are expecting our first child in March and couldn't be happier with the way things have worked out for us. We are truly blessed to be a part of Freedom for Youth and cannot wait to see the changes this progtam has in store for Osceola's youth. I don't think there is any greater way to give back to a community that has nurtured and fostered our growth.
